DL6LAU Carsten Esch, the team leader and initiator of VP6DX DX-pedition, will tell you the full story of VP6DX one of the most successfull DX-peditions in the history. Carsten has been licensed since 1982 at the age of 17. In the past, he operated as J75T, OH0/DL6LAU, V26AU, OJ0AU, ZA7DL6LAU and PJ2P to name a few. Guest operator at T70A, 3V8SM and OH0Z. He likes to operate contest in M/S or M/M and was fortunate enough to join teams at J3A, V26B, CN8WW, W3LPL, W0AIH, OZ5E and ZA1A. In Germany, he mostly operates M/M from DR1A. During the WRTC 2002 in Helsinki he was one of the referees.Beside short wave, he also enjoys working Earth-Moon-Earth (QRV on 23cm, 13cm 3cm and 24GHz EME from DL0SHF). |

コンテストでも大変アクティブな香港の局としても良く知られたVR2BG Brett Grahamは40mや80mに出没するノイズ(障害電波)について数年前からいろいろと調査をしてきました。ITUやIARUでも問題視され、それに対し資料作成等で多くの貢献をしています。これは超水平線レーダー(OHR)からの信号で軍事目的で利用されているため、今後この種のシステムを利用する国が増えると予想されています。ましてや、問題はこれらが意識的にアマチュア無線バンドの周波数帯を利用していることです。見方によっては、アマチュア無線にとってPLC問題より重要な事柄でしょう。Brettから直接話が聞ける良い機会をお見逃しなく。 |

Glenn Johnson, W0GJ, has been on four Dxpedtions to #2 Most Wanted entities (Heard Island, Bhutan, Andaman and Lakshadweep). He is a member of the CQ Magazine Amateur Radio Hall of Fame and recipient of the 2004 ARRL International Humanitarian Award. He helped bring amateur radio into the Kingdom of Bhutan and helped license the first group of Bhutanese hams. He also taught orthopedic surgery to the Bhutanese physicians. He will entertain you with his home state of Minnesota (what it is like to live where the winter temperatures can be -50C) and the 2007 VU7RG Dxpedition to Lakshadweep. |
